This Privacy Policy describes how Split4You ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use our Android application. Split4You is a bill-splitting and shared expense tracker developed by Zeromonad.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App does and does not collect, and how the App works.
Split4You does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any of the following:
Your groups, participants, expenses, and balances are never transmitted off your device under any circumstances. The only network activity the App can perform is the optional in-app purchase described in section 5.
All data you enter into Split4You — including groups, participants, expenses, and balances — is stored exclusively on your device using local device storage. This data:
If your device uses Android's native backup service (Google Backup), your local app data may be included in that backup according to Google's own privacy policy. This is a device-level feature outside our control. You can manage backup settings in your Android device settings.
Split4You does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal details to use the App. All features are available without registration.
Every feature of Split4You — creating groups, adding expenses, calculating balances, settling up, and exporting your data — works entirely offline. Your groups and expenses are never uploaded, and the App does not need an internet connection to function.
The one exception is the optional Split4You Pro unlock. If you choose to buy it, the App connects to Google Play Billing to process and verify the purchase. That connection is handled by Google Play, is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, and carries only the purchase itself — no group, expense, or balance data is included. If you never buy Pro, the App makes no network requests at all.
Split4You does not collect any personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13. Because no data is collected or transmitted, the App is safe for use by all ages. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable regulations.
Split4You does not integrate any analytics tools, advertising networks, crash-reporting services, or social login services. The only third-party SDK in the App is the Google Play Billing Library, used solely to sell and verify the optional Split4You Pro unlock. No personal or expense data is shared with any third party.
Because Split4You stores all data locally on your device, your data security depends on your device's security settings (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We encourage you to use a secure screen lock on your device.
If we ever update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via an in-app notice or a new App release. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
